Alan Radley: Emeritus Professor of Social Psychology. His research interests involve the psychological aspects of illness and health, and his current area of focus is on the visual and narrative aesthetics of representations of illness and health. He organizes the AHRC Representations of Illness Workshops at Loughborouh University, and he was the founding director of the International Journal for the Studty of Health, Illness and Medicine. His publications include The Body and Social Psychology (1991), Making Sense of Illness (1994) and Works of Illness: Narrative, Picturing and the Social Response to Serious Disease (2009).
